@tzimmer_history None is right, If the Russians are now attacking Ukraine (because they want an idealized Soviet Union), and they had no problems in providing weapons to the enemies of the United States when the Iron curtain still existed (this is a supposition - but it's a logical one) the Russians could have provided weapons to both enemies to get Ukraine. Ukraine is the big price (Industries, grains and wheat, nuclear power).
